Emmy Nominations Are Out!
The nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards have just been announced! This big event celebrates the best TV shows. The announcement was made by actors Brenda Song and Harvey Guillén.
Who's Leading the Pack?
The show with the most nominations is Severance from Apple TV+, which got an amazing 27 nominations.
It's a smart thriller about a workplace. Close behind is The Penguin from HBO, a dark and stylish show connected to Batman.
It received 24 nominations. People really liked Colin Farrell's acting in this gritty show. Tied for third place are two shows, both with 23 nominations:
The Studio (Apple TV+): This is a new comedy that makes fun of the TV industry.
The White Lotus (HBO): This popular show, known for its mysteries and comments on society, continues its winning streak.
HBO's The Last of Us also did well, getting 16 nominations for its emotional second season. This show about a post-apocalyptic world is often recognized for awards.
Broadcast TV Shows Recognized
Even traditional TV channels got some love:
SNL50: The Anniversary Special (NBC) got the most nominations for broadcast TV with 12.
Saturday Night Live (NBC) itself received 7 nominations.
Abbott Elementary (ABC), The Amazing Race (CBS), and the 2025 Oscars broadcast (ABC) each got 6 nominations.
When to Watch
You can watch the main Emmy Awards show on Sunday, September 14. It will be live on CBS and you can stream it on Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
Before that, the Creative Arts Emmys (which honor technical achievements) will happen on September 6 and 7, and you can watch them on FXX on September 13.
